Keynote Speakers  Jason Robart
President & CEO
Zaffre Investments

Jason is the President and CEO of Zaffre Investments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Zaffre is committed to adding value through investments in new products, services, and technology, to improve the way healthcare is delivered and received. To date, BCBSMA and Zaffre have made investments in a wide range of companies, including urgent care centers, a claims processing platform, a number of health IT start ups and several consumer-focused organizations.

Previously Jason served as Blue Cross’ Senior Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness and Chief Human Resources Officer. He brings more than 20 years of experience in health care, human resources, client relationship development, and sales/product management to his work for our company.

Jason was formerly an executive vice president for Health Dialog, an international health care analytics company where he worked with many of the largest Blues Plans in the country. He has extensive leadership experience in change management and the creation of high-performing organizations, including seven years as a principal at Mercer Human Resource Consulting; three years as a vice president at Imagitas, a targeted marketing firm; and six years as vice president and president at Ceridian Performance Partners, a national firm specializing in organizational effectiveness, work/life balance, diversity and workplace flexibility.

Jason holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Middlebury College. He serves on the board of directors of the Northeast Human Resource Association, and on a variety of committees for other nonprofit organizations.
          Philip A. Borden

Philip Borden is a General Partner at Riverside Partners, LLC, a middle-market private equity firm focused on healthcare and technology investments. The firm is currently investing out of Riverside Fund V, a 561 million equity fund raised in 2012. Mr. Borden leads much of Riverside’s activity in the healthcare industry and currently serves on the boards of Allied Dental, Dominion Diagnostics, Pilgrim Quality Solutions, Enovate Medical and BioAgilytix Labs. Over his career, he has made investments in medical products and equipment, healthcare services, healthcare IT, outsourced manufacturing, diagnostics and laboratories, and analytical instrumentation.

Prior to joining Riverside, Mr. Borden worked at Oxford Bioscience Partners, a leading life science venture capital firm. Mr. Borden began his investment career at Frazier Healthcare in Seattle. Mr. Borden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Duke University, with honors, and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with highest distinction as a Baker Scholar.
